RECONNECT

As I was reflecting on the graduation anniversary of my Master's program yesterday, I found myself feeling into who I was then, the teachings I've moved through over four years, and how I've shifted and grown since that time of my life. My practice has evolved tremendously too. My skill set has expanded, I ask better questions, my intuition is crystal clear, and we're taking deeper journeys into our own light. I hold space differently and because of that attract different souls.

.

.

But there are core things that have always stayed with me.

.

.

1.) My approach is Transpersonal (my M.A. is in Transpersonal Psychology), moving beyond the personal-mind/emotions, our day-to-day, taking the whole person into view, not just fragments and considering your environment, your relationships, your soul/spirit-the WHOLE being. This is where the conversation about the practical, how you're eating, sleeping/taking care of yourself and how you feel about your connection to your Spirit happen in the same session. haha It is also why I've studied in many areas/traditions like energy work, alchemy and herbalism, so that I have a wider toolbox than talk therapy.

.

.

2.) If you have a connection practice. This is almost always the first question I ask a new client. What does your connection to Spirit/your Self look like? For some it's nature walks, meditation/prayer, oracle divination, yoga/exercise, and for others maybe chanting/sound healing, gardening, etc. If we are disconnected from ourselves, we are disconnected with spirit/a higher power/our higher selves or however you term it. And if we are disconnected with ourselves, we are most likely disconnected from our community or are not receiving fulfillment from it.

.

.

Working at this layer is the first part to rejuvenating the soul. Disconnection can even happen for healers, therapists, and facilitators who have been on their path for a long time too. That is OKAY and is a call to look at where we have placed our focus. If we are moving too fast, trying to "hustle" in this rapid-fire world we live in, ignoring our inner nudges to slow down and are distracted, then connection is harder to maintain. If you're feeling lackluster, aimless or confused, come back to yourself. Carve out time to close out the old "windows," unplug and reboot, letting go of expectation. Too much pressure kills the soul. So take it off.

.

.

It's like we've been moving to an old rhythm, but our minds haven't caught up yet. Often new gifts, new perspectives, new approaches are wanting to emerge and THAT'S the energy you feel waiting on the other side, but you haven't allowed the old to die yet. So let it die. If you need help getting comfortable with cycles of death and rebirth, look at nature. It's doing it all the time. More on our own uncomfortability about that later...

.

.

I hope this message finds those that need it today. I'm happy to say, I don't see the same clients forever. I don't want to! Not because I don't love you guys, but because this approach works and it empowers you to do your own work, taking what you learn and receive in session to your own life because DUH that is what this is about right? Leading our own lives with freedom. Happy almost Full Moon!
